How to set up Remote Access for a PacInfo dial-up connection:
1. To bring up the Remote Access Dialer program, click on the Apple menu and bring up the Control Panel menu. Scroll down and select the Remote Access option.
2. If this is the first time you have accessed this program, the window that will appear will look like the following:
--In order to get to the information we need, click on the blue arrow that is pointing at Setup, this will make the program open the default settings.
3. You will now see a window that looks like the following:
4. Enter your PacInfo user name in the Name field. For example, if your PacInfo e-mail address is john@pacinfo.com, then your user name would be john.
5. Enter your password in the Password field. Note: you can check Save password if you want the dialer to remember your password.
6. Enter the PacInfo dial-up phone number in the Number field (i.e. 541-762-7762).
7. Next, click on the Options button. This will bring up a window like the following:
8. Select PPP from the Use protocol pull down menu. This will allow for more dependable and easier connections.
9. Click on the OK button to close this window, close the Remote Access window, and select the Save option to save these settings.
10. Follow the instructions below to configure your TCP/IP settings.
 
Configuring TCP/IP:
1. From the General tab, click on the Open TCP/IP button.
2. Select Connect via PPP.
3. Make sure Configure is set to Using PPP Server.
4. As the Starting domain name of the Implicit Search Path type pacinfo.com
5. In the Name server addr box type 12.7.120.131 then press Enter on your keyboard and type 12.7.120.132 as a second name server address.
6. Type pacinfo.com in the Additional Search domains field.
NOTE--If the right side of your TCP/IP window does not look like the window above (for example--it only has a window named Search Domains: where it should list the Implicit Search Paths...), you need to change the user mode setting. Click on the Edit menu entry, and select User Mode. From there, click on the Advanced bullet, and click OK. This should make TCP/IP look like the window above.
